In 1995, the expansion Carolina Panthers had to play their home games in Clemson, S.C. as they waited for their new home in uptown Charlotte to be completed.
Bank of America Stadium, known then as Ericsson Stadium, was privately financed at $187 million and one of the first professional franchises to use Personal Seat Licenses (PSLs). Opened in 1996, the Panthers reached the NFC title game in their inaugural season. In 2003, the Panthers represented the NFC in Super Bowl XXXVIII.
The stadium features 11,209 club level seats and 158 luxury suites.
